Wildlife Campaigns and Causes
My love for wildlife doesn't stop with whales. I love all animals big and small and would love nothing more than to see the cruelty and suffering stopped now! There are several campaigns and causes from all around the world that are trying to do just that. I'll be posting links to many of them here. Please note, this page is still under construction so new campaigns will be added as time allows.

End Whaling Now!
When whales are harpooned it can take several hours for them to die. Some require being harpooned a second or third time while others are shot with a rifle. Some are harpooned and manage to get away, but they most likely end up dying a long and painful death from their wounds. Whaling is extremely cruel and it should not be tolerated, but somehow it is.

Many people don't even know that whaling still exists, but unfortunately for whales it does. In fact, it's on the verge of making a major come back for countries who are hoping to make a profit off of these animal's pain and suffering. These countries include Japan, Iceland, and Norway.

Endangered whales are being targeted by countries who want to bring back commercial whaling. Japan currently kills Minke Whales and endangered Fin Whales (along with other species). In the 2007 whaling season, they're planning to expand their hunt to kill (50) endangered Humpback Whales. Humpbacks are endangered and losing (50) of them could be very disasterous to their overall population. Still, Japan claims that they 'must be killed' as part of their 'scientific program'. The whole world knows that this so called scientific program is nothing but a joke, but Japan still claims that's exactly what it is.. science.

    Canada's Seal Hunt
In Canada 300,000 baby seal pups may be killed this year thanks to the Canadien government. These animals (who typically range from about 2 weeks of age to just a few months old) are clubbed, hooked, and/or shot for their coats. Some of these animals are skinned before they're even dead and then what's left of their bodies are tossed aside like a piece of trash. As you can imagine, to say that this is a cruel and inhumane hunt is a major understatement.
